Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Undercoat - Colour Match is a quick drying and water based product that provides great flexibility to help absorb the natural movement of wood.
Specially formulated to be used with Dulux Trade Weathershield topcoats, this durable undercoat also provides up to 6 years of all weather protection, with a low V.O.C and coverage of up to 16sq/m per litre. Providing an overall matt finish, Dulux Weathershield Undercoat is touch dry within 1-2 hours, and recoatable within 2-4 hours depending on temperature and humidity.
Dulux Trade Weathershield Undercoat also provides you with its ability to be colour matched. Mixed to a wide range of colours including most major brands, simply enter the name and brand of the colour you would like, or select from the colour palette above to get your perfect colour choice.

To get the best results, ensure your chosen surfaces are sound, clean and dry before application.
To begin, remove all loose coatings and if necessary strip back to the original bare wood. It's also important to note, if any areas of your wooden surface are affected with mould or algae growth, that these are treated beforehand with a suitable mould and mildew cleaner. Apply 1 or 2 coats of an appropriate knotting solution to treat any remaining knots in wood and then follow this up with treating any surface defeats with a wood filler.
For optimum results prime your chosen exterior surface with Dulux Trade Weathershield Preservative Primer.
Before full application of Dulux Weathershield Exterior Undercoat we always recommend testing out a small area on your chosen surface to ensure you are happy with the products overall adhesion and finish.
This product is suitable for brush application only and does not require any thinning beforehand. It's also important to remember that this product should NOT be applied in temperatures below 10°C or when there is likely to be rain or fog. To begin, stir the undercoat paint thoroughly before use and apply 2 full coats of Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Undercoat.
Once the Dulux Trade Weathershield Exterior Undercoat has fully dried it can then be overcoated with Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Gloss or Dulux Trade Weathershield Quick Dry Exterior Satin.
