Sandtex Trade Rust Inhibiting Primer Undercoat is a high quality, solvent based primer actively inhibiting rust on exterior metal surface.
Acting as a high quality primer on metals for the Sandtex Trade Eggshell X-tra the rust inhibiting primer has been formulated for use on unpainted ferrous and non-ferrous exterior metal surfaces, including weathered or pre-treated galvanised steel.
The Sandtex Trade Rust Inhibiting Primer Undercoat is a primer and undercoat in one and is available in grey. It can applied with brush or roller and is recoatable after 6 hours.

Prior to application on new metal surfaces, ensure that surfaces are clean, dry and free from anything that will interfere with the materials to be applied. It is also advised that you wash down your surface with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove oil, grease or any other contaminants. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow to dry. When dry prime with one coat of Sandtex Trade Rust Inhibiting Primer Undercoat.
For application on previously coated metal surfaces, all surfaces must be dry, and free from anything that will interfere with the adhesion of the materials to be applied. All rust must be removed, as well as other loose, failing and suspect paint. Spot prime all bare metalwork with Sandtex Trade Rust Inhibiting Primer Undercoat and wash remaining sound paint with hot water and liquid detergent solution to remove any contaminants.
Stir well before use. For optimum results apply using a brush or with a medium or long pile roller. Maintain a wet edge and avoid excessive de-nibbing in between coats where possible. Ensure the previous coat is fully dry before further application.
If maintenance is required, surfaces may be washed with a warm water and liquid detergent solution to remove surface dirt prior to application.
