Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish provides long-lasting protection for your wooden floors and protects against everyday scuffs, scratches and spills.
This hard floor varnish can be used on new or previously varnished interior wooden flooring and comes from Ronseal's Diamond Hard Protection range ensuring a tough long-lasting finish. Unlike other varnishes on the market, Ronseal's hard floor varnish is low-odour so it won't leave your house smelling of varnish.
Diamond Hard Floor Varnish will cover roughly 18m²/litre and the Varnish will dry in just 30 minutes. Thanks to its fast-drying formula, Diamond hard floor varnish is coat-able in 2 hours.

Before you start
Remove all furniture from the room and open the doors and windows. Check that the room is warmer than 10 degrees before you begin applying your diamond hard floor varnish. Always wear a mask when sanding to avoid dust inhalation.
Preparation of your surface will help your Diamond Hard Floor Varnish stick evenly and give better results.
- Use 120 grit-sandpaper to sand the length of your floorboard
- Vaccum the floor and clean it with white spirit before applying your Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish.
- Stir the varnish thoroughly and ensure you are happy with the colour of the varnish by testing the varnish on a small patch of your floor.
- Start in the corner furthest away from your door and apply the varnish using a 4" brush. We would suggest varnishing the length of two floorboards at a time to prevent you from getting trapped!
- Once you have applied the first coat of Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish, wait two hours for the first coat of varnish to dry before reapplying. We would suggest three coats of Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish to achieve the best protection.
- Very lightly sand down your floorboards using 240 grit sandpaper and wipe the floor with a damp cloth before you apply the third coat of Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish.
We suggest waiting 24 hours before bringing your furniture back into the room. Within 72 hours your floor will be diamond hard.
Cleaning
72 hours after application, your floor will be diamond hard and ready to deal with everyday wear and tear as well as vacuuming and sweeping.
Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish can be cleaned off your brushes using soapy water
Repairs
If your notice any damage to the varnish, simply cover the area with three coats of Ronseal Diamond Hard Floor Varnish to restore the perfect finish
