Featuring innovative Stain Blocking Technology, it can be used on smoke damage, nicotine damage and water stains. A highly scrubbable and durable paint, Johnstone's Trade Stainaway Matt Paint leaves your walls with a professional finish that resists scuffs and scrapes, reducing the need for you to carry out yearly maintenance.
The Johnstone's Trade Stainaway paint is both a primer and finish in one saving you time and can be applied by either a brush, roller or spray leaving a flat matt finish. Ideal for using on interior walls and ceilings, this durable water based paint covers between 9-11m² per litre depending on the surface condition.
Surfaces recommended to use the Stainaway on are walls and ceilings both bare and previously painted including plaster, plasterboard, concrete, ceiling tiles and wallcoverings.
Available in paint tin sizes of 2.5L, 5L & 10L, Johnstone's Stainaway Matt Paint has a touch dry time of 1 hour and is recoatable within 4 hours.

Before full application of Johnstone's Trade Stainaway Matt Paint ensure that surfaces to be painted are clean, dry and free from any loose or flaking material. Rub down any previously painted surfaces with a fine waterproof abrasive paper and rinse thoroughly.
Avoid the inhalation of dust and wear a suitable face mask if dry sanding.
Suitable to be applied with a paintbrush, roller or sprayer. Ensure there is good ventilation during the application and drying process. (If using a sprayer, do not breathe spray and remember to wear respiratory protection throughout).
Stir paint tin thorougly before use and seal absorbant surfaces such as plaster with a coat of Johnstone's Trade Stainaway thinned up to 20% with clean water. For optimum results in one coat, apply paint generously and evenly in one single, whilst trying to avoid overspreading. For any strong or contrasting stains, more than one coat may be required.
Apply all-purpose cleaner to sponge or soft cloth and wipe away stain from surface and allow to dry.
