Fiddes Exterior Wood Protector
A water repelling preservative sealer, the Fiddes exterior wood protector has been designed to preserve and protect exterior wooden surfaces.
Working through deeply penetrating into both smooth and planed rough sawn exterior timber, the Fiddes exterior wood protector helps to prevent surface growth of algae whilst also offering a high resistance to water.
Suitable for using on sheds, fences and timber, this solvent based wood protector is easy to apply with a good quality bristle or synthetic paintbrush and delivers a UV protected colour that will not fade overtime. Delivering coverage of 6 square meters per litre, this exterior wood protector is available in a clear finish and in a 5L size tin. With 2/3 coats required depending on your substrate, read our below preparation and application sections to ensure top quality results.
Can I apply Fiddes exterior wood protector to all exterior surfaces?
The Fiddes exterior wood protector is ideal for using on surfaces which aren't subjected to high wear/tear and footfall making it ideal for using on shed and fences. Exterior areas such as decking or garden furniture are not suitable.

Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry, and free from any previous finish. Remove any fungal growth, dirt or moss on old wood prior to application Sand the substrate with a medium 120 grade sanding paper, removing all traces of dust.
Apply in dry conditions. Always test on a small area prior to initial application to check colour shade. Apply with brush or solvent resistant, low pressure garden sprayer, ideally in still conditions if spraying.
First Coat
Stir contents thoroughly before and during use. Apply consistently using a good quality bristle or synthetic brush and lay evenly, following the direction of the grain. Leave to dry 12 hours or preferably overnight.
Second Coat
Apply as first coat. Leave to dry 12 hours or preferably overnight.
Third Coat
Apply as above. Clean applicators with Fiddes White Spirit.
