Before application of Cuprinol Garden Shades there is no need for a primer. In dry conditions apply your first coat of Cuprinol brushing along the grain. Cuprinol is touch dry in just 1 hour.

Cuprinol Ducksback is ideal for applying on rough, sawn wood. Relying on timber texture for adhesion, if the wooden surface contains smooth timber components, or has lost texture through weathering then adhesion performance will be reduced. For smooth wooden surfaces, Cuprinol Garden Shades is the perfect substitute. 

For optimum results when applying Cuprinol to your wooden surface, paint tricky areas around joints and frames using a high quality paint brush and larger areas with a roller.
