Meet the 12 New Farrow & Ball Colours
I had the amazing opportunity to visit Farrow & Ball HQ back in November, where these shades were showcased on a life-sized colour chart - and honestly, I was absolutely enthralled! Each shade was expertly introduced by Colour Curator Joa (yes, the Joa from Joa’s White fame!) and Creative Director Charlie (whose iconic red hair inspired the bold and fiery Charlotte’s Locks!).
Listening to the process these two go through - months and months in advance - to pull together a new collection was fascinating. They listen to customer feedback across all mediums, from social media conversations to colour consultancy appointments, while combining their phenomenal colour expertise to identify gaps in the current 132-colour Farrow & Ball palette. From there, they narrow down and finalise which 12 new shades to introduce - and which colours to bring back from their gorgeous Archive collection.
We even managed to snag some time with Joa and Charlie to pick their brains a little further, and we’ve written all about that in our Colour Chat blog. They share more about how these colours were created, how they imagine them being used, and even how they come up with those famous Farrow & Ball names!
In this blog, I’m diving into all 12 new colours in detail - sharing pairing ideas, which rooms they’re best suited for, and room orientation tips to help you make the most of these beautiful shades. One thing we’re sure of at DCO: this is going to be another stellar launch for Farrow & Ball. The shades are absolutely gorgeous, and we can’t wait to see how you use them in your own homes.
Lets delve in, I’ve grouped them into some colour style options as a way to talk through them, you can jump to one of the sections below if there are particular shades you’re seeking out!

Which Shades Will Be the Bestsellers?
Wow, if you’ve made it this far through our marathon of colour detail—well done, you! But hey, if you can’t pack all this info into a blog, where else can you, right?
What surprised us most when we were introduced to the collection by Joa and Charlie was the huge range of colour schemes and pairings they shared. They pulled together combinations that we never would’ve considered, but somehow, they just work! This collection is incredibly versatile—the shades stand strong on their own, work beautifully in cohesive schemes, and fit perfectly with the colour drenching trend that’s everywhere right now. Yet, they still deliver on the timeless, historic charm we’ve come to know and love from Farrow & Ball.
We honestly don’t know how they do it—but I guess we don’t need to! We just need to be grateful that every three years, these guys pull it out of the bag in the best way possible.
So… which shades do we think will be the bestsellers? Honestly, home interiors are full of surprises. Sometimes the shades you expect to be the stars get outshone by those you thought would be supporting acts. But based on our chat with Joa and Charlie (and our own favourites), here’s what we’re predicting:
Douter – The Smoky Green Star
Douter was immediately called out as a star of the show—and for good reason! It fills a gap between two of Farrow & Ball’s bestselling shades, Green Smoke and Inchyra Blue. Since we mix a lot of these colours, we completely agree! Green is going nowhere as a trend—it works so well in so many homes and spaces—and Douter will be no different.
Marmelo – The Spiced Favourite
Marmelo was another clear favourite in the room. In fact, we even got notebooks in the Marmelo shade—how cool is that?! We’re seeing more and more people opting for burnt orange and warming tones in their homes, and we know this will continue into 2025 and beyond. We predict we’re going to see a lot of you using this one (and we can’t wait to see your finished rooms!).
Dibber – Our Personal Pick
Now, Dibber is a favourite we’ve added to the list ourselves. It’s green (tick!), but with warming yellow-brown undertones that make it inviting, calming, and cosy. It has a direct link to the outdoors, making it perfect for spaces like kitchens, living rooms, and even exteriors. Plus, with its warming yellow undertone, it’ll work in any room orientation—so you can use this shade to your heart’s content!
Scallop – The Sneaky Fourth Favourite
Okay, we know we said we’d pick three, but we can’t resist sneaking in Scallop! Given how popular Dead Salmon and Setting Plaster have been for Farrow & Ball, we’re predicting Scallop will be another hit. It’s a lighter interpretation of those classics, leaning less pink than Setting Plaster, which means it can slot into a neutral scheme or bring in those soft, rosy tones that are so on-trend right now. We love it so much we’ve chosen it for our new baby’s nursery, and we’ll be sharing the results in a blog very soon!
The Archive – What’s Changing?
A quick word on the Archive! As you might know, Farrow & Ball’s colour chart holds 132 spaces, which means that with every new launch, 12 shades have to step aside. But don’t worry—Farrow & Ball never fully retires their colours. They’re stored away in the Archive collection, where they’re still fully available.
For the first time ever, Farrow & Ball has reinstated three archive colours—Sap Green, Broccoli Brown, and Etruscan Red—and given them their moment in this launch! But which shades are saying goodbye (for now)? Head to my sneak peak blog here to read all about the colours that will be archived.
What Do You Think?
Alright, we’ve talked your ears off now! But if you can’t tell, we’re just a bit excited about these shades! Now it’s over to you—we’d love to hear about your favourites and where you’re planning to use these colours in your home.
Leave us a comment here on the blog, join the conversation on our socials, or even give us a call for a chat—we’re always up for talking colour!
