Osmo End Grain Sealing Wax

Osmo End Grain Sealing Wax is a specialised end grain sealer for wood, designed to protect vulnerable cut timber ends from moisture, weathering, cracking and excessive movement. End grain is particularly susceptible to moisture absorption because the exposed wood fibres can draw water deep into the timber, making effective protection especially important for exterior woodwork.

The natural oil and wax formulation of this end grain sealing wax penetrates deeply into the wood capillaries, helping to protect the timber from the inside out rather than simply forming a coating on the surface. This helps reduce moisture absorption and minimise the effects of swelling, shrinking and the natural drying or seasoning process.

Its microporous formulation provides breathable protection, allowing the timber to regulate moisture naturally. Unlike some conventional varnishes and polyurethane coatings, it is designed to avoid creating a rigid surface film that can crack, peel or flake as the wood moves.

As a durable wood edge sealer, it helps repel water and dirt while providing protection against rain, moisture ingress and tannin bleeding. This makes it particularly useful for exposed cut ends on wooden decking, cladding, fencing and other exterior timber.

For best results, ensure the cut timber is clean and dry before application and apply the product specifically to exposed end grain as directed.
