A year of calm, comfort and everyday rituals…
If the past few years have reminded us of anything, it’s just how deeply our homes shape the way we feel. As life outside speeds up, our interiors are quietly choosing another path; softening, slowing and settling into warmth. Colours are becoming less about making a statement and more about creating sanctuary: rooms that steady the breath, soften the mood and help us find a little stillness amid the noise.
Across thousands of choices, you’ve shown us exactly what you’re searching for: warm whites, tender beiges and grounding neutrals that feel like a long exhale. Our best-selling shades of 2025 confirm it…people aren’t chasing fast trends. You’re craving colours that soothe the senses, restore the spirit and make everyday living feel calmer, softer and more intentional.

As we move into 2026, this desire deepens into something beautifully ritualistic. A collective pull toward restoration, grounding and gentle optimism. Homes that don’t just look peaceful, ones that genuinely help you feel it.
2026 Trends That Feel Like a Gentle Evolution (Not a Reinvention)
One of the most comforting truths about colour trends is that they rarely change overnight. Interiors evolve slowly, and that’s a good thing! You don’t need to redress your entire home every January for it to feel current.
In fact, many of the incoming 2026 trends are shades you already love.
TREND: MOONLIGHT HAZE
Think delicate, moonlit blues that feel like a gentle exhale. Cool, airy and almost weightless, these tones evoke the quiet stillness of early morning light. Refreshing, restorative and beautifully serene.
Try: Blue Pause, our soft, soothing take on this tranquil trend.

TREND: PAPER CREAMS
Soft, milky neutrals that add depth without raising their voice. These creamy whites feel like “white, but better”...warm, welcoming and beautifully understated.
Try: Wool, a gorgeous off-white with a mellow yellow-cream undertone that instantly softens a room.

TREND: CHOCOLATE FONDANT
Rich, warming and ultra chic, chocolatey browns are having a real moment. These grounded tones bring sophistication while still feeling enveloping and soothing.
Try: Tea Leaves, a deliciously understated brown with cosy, modern elegance.

TREND: AUBERGINE
Aubergine tones bring all the moodiness and glamour of candlelit evenings. Luxurious and enveloping, they add instant depth, drama and quiet opulence to any scheme.
Try: Night Berry for a beautifully rich, moody finish.

TREND: BERRY AND REDS
Berry-led reds create a rich, warm and sophisticated atmosphere, adding a sense of luxury without feeling overpowering.
Try: Warm Sangria, a softened berry-red that’s far less intimidating to decorate with but still wonderfully inviting.

TREND: LAVENDER
Lavender interiors lean into calm, soft and ethereal spaces. Muted purples blended with creams, whites and warm woods create a soothing, nature-inspired feel.
Try: Vintage Port for a subtle, elegant take on this restful trend.

TREND: CHARCOAL GREY
Softer than black but just as grounding, charcoal greys anchor a room with quiet strength. They add modern sophistication without the harshness of true black.
Try: Sweet Liquorice for a sleek, versatile charcoal tone.

TREND: SMOKY TEALS
Smoky teals offer depth, sophistication and calm, rich without being overwhelming, moody without feeling heavy.
Try: Teal Tango, our beautifully muted teal that leans into quiet luxury

TREND: GREEN SERENITY
Nature-led greens continue to dominate, bringing calm, clarity and a refreshing sense of wellness. These soft, earthy greens help mimic the outdoors and create uplifting, restorative rooms.
Try: Eucalyptus or All The Sage, both gentle and grounding.

All of these trends show the same thing…good colours have longevity. You don’t need to chase reinvention! Your home evolves beautifully when you choose tones that feel right, not rushed.
Introducing Our Four New 2026 Shades
Inspired by Calm, Ritual & The Slow-Morning Comfort of Tea!
While the DCO palette was already filled with trend-led shades, we noticed a few gentle gaps: buttery yellows, spearmint greens, soft browns and grounding neutrals to balance modern homes. And with the DCO team collectively drinking a 500-bag box of Yorkshire Tea every month (yes, really), a brew-inspired theme felt like destiny.
These four new shades celebrate the little rituals that steady us. Warm mugs, slow mornings and the comforting familiarity of a good tea break.
Vanilla Matcha
A soft, creamy off-white with a spearmint-green undertone. Calming, airy and beautifully fresh. Ideal for living rooms, hallways, bedrooms and open-plan spaces, it brings clarity and ease to any room and is one of our key Colour of the Year 2026 shades. Bright in sunlight and cosy in shadow, it pairs beautifully with warm browns, sage greens and natural textures.

Cream Chai Latte
A warming beige with a buttery-yellow undertone without straying anywhere near the magnolia territory we all fear! Comforting, inviting and softly luxurious, it warms dining rooms, bedrooms and living areas. Works beautifully with brown-based neutrals, warm whites and earthy greens while delivering on the “quiet luxury” trend.

Tea Biscuit
A grounding beige-taupe with biscuit-like warmth. Understated, familiar and effortlessly soothing. Light enough for full-room use, it’s perfect for restorative bedrooms, snugs and west-facing rooms that glow in afternoon light. Pair with milky whites, caramel neutrals and deeper browns for a calm, collected finish.

Brown Tea Leaf
A warm, earthy taupe that is rich, grounding and beautifully cocooning.
Ideal for reading corners, cabinetry, dining spaces and atmospheric living rooms. Thrives in medium or low light where its velvety depth comes alive. Pair with creamy neutrals, oat tones and walnut accents.

These four shades fill the missing pieces in our palette, answering the 2026 trends with softness, warmth and natural balance. They sit beautifully together but also integrate effortlessly into the wider DCO collection.
The Still Neutrals
While new colours bring excitement, the heart of every home lies in those dependable neutrals we return to time and time again. Our best sellers of 2025 confirmed what we’ve always believed: you value colours that work. Shades that behave themselves. Neutrals you can trust anywhere.
We gathered our most-loved off-whites and soft neutrals and named them The Still Neutrals. A palette with a double meaning:
-
They create stillness: calm, clarity and quiet.
-
And they are still the neutrals our customers absolutely adore.
Perfectly balanced, beautifully reliable, and endlessly liveable.
These colours form the backbone of so many real homes already, and we hope they’ll become the go-to shades you reach for when you want a space that simply works.
The Right White: A beautiful off-white with a hint of warming brown.
Warmer Than White: A beige-toned off-white that softens the starkness of a standard brilliant white.
Windswept: A pale, grey-toned off-white with a whisper of green that adds gentle freshness.
Fresh Start: A clean, pale neutral with soft grey undertones that creates a light, uplifting backdrop.
Flat White: A perfectly pale grey-white warmed by subtle brown undertones.
Essential Greige: A timeless greige that adds quiet elegance without leaning too yellow or too grey.
Delicate Cream: A warm, gentle hue that creates a serene, welcoming ambience.
Better Than Beige: A soft, inviting beige that elevates any room with its understated warmth.
Taupe It Off: A beautifully balanced taupe offering depth and sophistication without overwhelming a space.
On Point: The perfect harmony of warm creams and cool greys, the ultimate modern greige.

These are the quiet, dependable colours our customers return to year after year, the shades chosen when they want a home that feels calm, coherent and timeless.
2026 in Colour: A Year of Slow, Gentle Evolution
So much of 2026’s colour direction isn’t about reinvention it’s about returning to what feels right. Warmth. Softness. Ritual. Stillness.
Our new tea-inspired shades offer fresh ways to weave those feelings through your home, while our trend-aligned colours continue to prove their timelessness. And standing quietly behind everything is The Still Neutrals, the calm foundation so many of you rely on year after year.

Taken together, this palette tells a simple story: your home doesn’t need to chase change to feel renewed. Small shifts, softer tones and colours chosen with intention can transform the atmosphere of a space in the gentlest, most meaningful ways.
Whether you’re refreshing a single corner or redesigning a whole room, our DCO Colour of the Year 2026 palette is here to help you create a home that restores you, one soothing shade at a time. A space to breathe, to belong and to come back to again and again.
