Transform your interior wooden surfaces with Blackfriar Quick Drying Varnish. Ideal for all interior wood including doors and panelling, it provides a quick drying finish that is tough and durable.
Blackfriar Quick Drying Varnish resists knocks, hot water splashes and some household stains. Blackfriar Quick Drying Varnish is suitable for all woods, is tough and durable, resistant to heat, resists knocks, resists diluted acids and is water-based.
It has a coverage of 14m² per L. It is touch dry in 1 hour and hard dry in 3 days whilst it is recoatable after 4 hours.

Ensure surface to be varnished is clean, dry, sound and free from wax, oil or any other contamination. If wax has been used clean the surface thoroughly with white spirit prior to sanding.
Bare wood should be sanded to a smooth surfaces, always working with the grain. Sound previously varnished surfaces should be lightly sanded to provide a key. Remove dust.
Existing varnished surface which are unsound or in poor condition can be stripped back to bare timber with Blackfriar Professional Paint and Varnish Remover.
Stir thoroughly prior to use. The product may be applied by brush, roller or spray. If applying by brush, apply evenly using light strokes following the grain of the wood. If rollering, use a short nap mohair roller.
For best results 3-4 coats are recommended on new wood and 2-3 coats on previously varnished surfaces. For coloured varnish apply coat on coat until you achieve the desired colour. If the colour is achieved in only one or two coats of coloured varnish, build up to three coats with Blackfriar Quick Drying Varnish in Clear.
Prior to application of the final coat or if the overcoating time is exceeded lightly abrade with fine glass paper working with the grain and remove dust. The varnish will appear cloudy when wet but will quickly dry to a clear or translucent finish. When applying to new or bare wood, thin the first coat with up to 10% water.
