Sadolin Superdec Opaque Wood Protection is a highly durable and water based product that works through both self priming and undercoating, providing up to 10 years of durable protection.
Offering the ultimate wood protection for both cladding and exterior joinery, Sadolin Superdec erodes naturally through weathering, therefore providing and ensuring a flexible coating, that resists cracking, peeling and flaking that begins to develop overtime. Suitable for both applying to new or on previously painted/stained surfaces, this Superdec washable stain is easily applied through a brush and provides up to 10m² per litre of coverage, with a touch dry time of 1-4 hours and an overall recoatable time of 12-24 hours.
Available in 4 different colours Black, Super White, Walnut and Anthracite Grey (RAL7016) there are a range of tin sizes available to suit your project size including 1L, 2.5L and 5L. Sadolin Superdec Protection is suitable to be used on all exterior timber (except decking) where an opaque finish is required.

Timber surfaces must be suitably prepared, clean and dry. Treatment of knots is recommended prior to application of Sadolin Superdec by drilling out and filling or the application of an appropriate blocking primer.
Degrease any exposed bare timber surface by wiping with a cloth dampened with methylated spirits. Fillers specifically designed for use with timber should be used for making good any minor surface defects, imperfections and open joints.
If applying to new timber surfaces, any non preservative treated softwood timber should be treated with two liberal coats of Sadolin Quick Drying Wood Preserver, paying particular attention to end grains, allowing 24 hours drying time between coats and before overcoating with Sadolin Superdec.
Do not apply if there is a risk of rain, frost or bad weather. Ensure Sadolin Superdec has been thoroughly stirred before and during application, otherwise sheen and colour variations may be experienced.
Sadolin Superdec should be applied in a full flowing coat ensuring all surfaces and end grains are fully coated. For best results use a good quality brush specifically designed for use for the application of water borne products. Pay special attention to end grain, tops and bottoms of doors, and undersides of cills.
Following surface preparation in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations, finish with two full coats of Sadolin Superdec allowing a minimum of 16-24 hours drying between coats.
The need for maintenance is highlighted by the lightening of colour or reduction of sheen. All defective coatings should be completely removed, whilst any denatured exposed timber surfaces must be thoroughly sanded back to a clean, bright timber.
Remaining sound surfaces should be cleaned using a warm water and mild detergent and rinsed thoroughly with clean water. Bare timber should be patch primed with one coat of Sadolin Superdec. Finish with 1 or 2 coats of Sadolin Superdec as required.
