Osmo Exterior UV Protection Oil Extra 420 is a solvent-based UV-resistant wood oil for exterior wood, featuring a microporous finish, the protective oil helps to create a surface which does not crack, flake, peel or blister.
Water and dirt resistant, this UV Protected oil is also moisture regulating and reduces wood swelling and shrinkage that may begin to develop over time. With external elements of weathering fading the natural colour of the wood to a grey patina over time, this UV Protection oil has been developed to resist against this, whilst also maintaining the wood’s natural appearance helping to also protect against mould, algae and fungal attacks.
Ideal for using on windows, doors, cladding, fencing and other vertically structured joinery, the Osmo UV protection oil extra is very easy to apply, maintain and renovate, and creates a beautifully delicate satin finish.
With a recoatable time of 12 hours, and providing a high level of coverage up to 20m² per litre, Osmo Extra is available in both a 750ml and 2.5L sized tin.

Before application, ensure that all wood treated with Osmo UV Protection oil is clean, dry and frost- free.
For optimum results ensure that all traces of previous finishes such as paints and varnishes are removed to expose clean, bare wood. It is also important that any holes, gaps or imperfections are filled with a suitable wood filler.
Osmo recommends that fresh wood containing extractives and especially hardwoods need to weather for approximately 6 weeks after installation before oiling.
It is advised that prior to full application, that you test a small section of your chosen surface before treating to be sure of the overall effect and drying time.
To begin, stir the oil thoroughly and apply Osmo Protection oil thinly along the wood grain with ideally a soft top brush.
Work the oil into the wooden grain surface and wipe off any excess oil with a clean, lint free cloth and allow it to fully dry. Once the surface has fully dried, apply a second coat if required.
