Hammerite Metal Paint Aerosol - Smooth White has been specially designed to be applied directly onto rusty metal thanks to a formula that has been developed to be a primer, undercoat and topcoat in one, saving you both time and money.
Forming a protective barrier around your metal surface, this tough exterior paint helps to seal out moisture, whilst also providing long lasting protection both inside and out. Touch dry in an hour and recoatable within 4 hours, Hammerite is corrosion-resistant and is suitable for use on a wide range of exterior metal including gates, railings, drainpipes, guttering and garden furniture. Providing an overall high gloss finish, that is smooth to the touch, this easy to apply solvent based paint also helps to protect your metal work from rust, humidity and rain.
Providing up to 8 years of protection and providing up to 0.8 m² of coverage per litre, there are a range of different colourways available to suit whatever your exterior style is including White, Silver, Gold, Blue and Black.

To begin, it is recommended that smooth surfaces have been abraded and all loose and flaking paint has been removed. Surfaces must be clean from all dirt, dust and grease and removed with a suitable detergent, once cleaned wipe down with water and allow time to dry.
For optimum results, test a small area of your chosen surface and leave for 1 hour, if a reaction appears then remove all paint before applying Hammerite Direct to Rust Metal Paint.
Shake Hammerite Metal Paint aerosol can vigorously and in a vertical motion until the aligator ball is heard and then for a further 3 minutes.
To begin, apply light even coats from a distance of around 15cm, remembering to keep the aerosol can moving at all times (Do NOT concentrate spray in one spot). For maximum protection, apply 3-4 coats and allow around 15 minutes between coats.
Between coats it is advised that you upturn can and spray for 2 seconds to avoid any blockages. Once applied the paint should be dry in around 15 minutes.
If metal surfaces begin to look tired or shabby, simply repeat the processes explained in both the preparation and application sections.
