Hammerite Garage Door Paint in White is a tough, durable and decorative high gloss finish specially formulated for use on garage doors
Hammerite Garage Door Paint has been specially formulated to use on metal doors, mainly garage doors.
Easily applied, this tough, durable and exterior paint provides an overall beautiful high gloss finish that gives a high resistance to flaking, weather discoloration and paint sag. With no undercoat required, paint can be directly applied to your surface and provides up to 8m2 per litre, per coat, depending upon the nature and absorbency of the surface being painted. Simply apply with a brush or roller and leave for 4-6 hours to dry - a great way to give the surfaces additional protection. Available in a 750ml sized tin, there is a number of colours available including Black, Buckingham Green, Chestnut, Oxford Blue, White.

Prior to application, it is key that you prepare the garage door by rubbing down with either coarse sandpaper or a wire brush.
Wash the door with water with a diluted detergent, this will help to remove any dust, grease or dirt which may prevent overall adhesion to the surface. Before starting to paint, ensure that the door surface is completely dry.
Before you paint your garage doors, ensure that the ground and surrounding areas are protected with a dust sheet to catch any spills or drips.
To begin, open your garage door and paint the edges which are not visible when it is shut, once the edges have dried close the door and begin painting at the top of the door (A step ladder may be required for this).
Work your way down in stages until the whole door is painted completely. Always apply one thin coat to begin with, followed by a second one if necessary. Leave to dry for the time specified on the back of the tin before over-coating.
If metal surfaces begin to look tired or shabby, simply repeat the processes explained in both the preparation and application sections.
