Cuprinol Garden Shades has been specifically developed to colour and protect sheds, fences and garden furniture. Not only suitable to be used on sheds and fences, Cuprinol Garden Shades can also be used for brick, stone, terracotta as well as other wooden surfaces.
Available in an extensive range of cuprinol garden shades colours, it provides a beautiful overall matt finish, and contains special pigments ensuring a rich colour and allowing the natural texture of the woodgrain to shine through underneath.
With a promise of 6 year weather protection on wooden surfaces, this water based paint takes approximately 8 hours to dry and covers up to 12m² per litre on average. Easily applied with a brush, roller or sprayer, this beautifully designed paint is available in 2 sizes including Cuprinol Garden Shades 1L and Cuprinol Garden Shades 2.5L. For optimum results, a maximum of 2 coats is generally required.

Before application can begin, ensure that all surfaces are clean, dry and free from any loose debris.
If any areas of your wooden surface have been affected by mould or mildew, make sure that these have been treated with a mould/mildew cleaner before painting can begin. Any holes, gaps or splits in the surface of the wood must be filled in beforehand also.
If your chosen surface has already been previously coated with paint or varnish, it must be stripped back to its original bare wood before Cuprinol Garden Shades can be applied directly. Before application, it is advised that your chosen wooden surface is pretreated with an appropriate wood preserver to prevent wood and decay from occurring.
Before full application of Cuprinol Garden Shades, we always recommend testing a small area first, before beginning any project to ensure that you are happy with the colour and overall look of the finish.
Cuprinol Garden Shades paint can be applied through two different methods:
Paint Brush
Before you begin, make sure that you always stir the product thoroughly, next apply the paint evenly along the grain using a good quality paintbrush. This quick drying paint is touch dry within 1 hour, and recommends leaving between 2-4 hours before application of the next coat can begin.
Spray
Before you begin, make sure that you always stir the product thoroughly before emptying the contents into the sprayer and refer to the sprayer instructions for full instructions before every use. Before you begin, ensure that any nearby areas have been covered encase overspray occurs. Any overspray that may occur should be cleaned up immediately with water and household detergent.
Cuprinol Garden Shades should not be applied in temperatures below 5°C or in damp conditions.
To maintain your Cuprinol Garden Shades finish, surfaces should be cleaned on a regular basis with a dampened, lint-free cloth. If surfaces begin to look worn or show signs of weathering, re-apply a fresh coat of your Cuprinol garden shades colours following the steps above.
