Our Eco-Friendly Packaging

Our Eco-Friendly Packaging

We’ve developed our packaging over the last three years to continuously improve how kind it is to the environment but also to protect your decorating essentials whilst they are in transit. The result is some properly robust packaging, which is manufactured in large parts from waste, and is almost 100% recyclable. All our packaging is sourced in the UK.

Here’s a quick look at the key parts of our packaging

Cardboard Boxes (I know, exciting stuff right!)

The boxes we ship our products in are manufactured from 70% recycled material and are 100% recyclable. Materials for all our boxes are sourced from Forest Stewardship Council certified suppliers. Our Paint boxes are specifically designed to work with bespoke pulp inserts to ensure safe transit of your paint.

Epic Eco Inserts

We work with a leading UK supplier of pulp inserts which are manufactured from 100% recycled cardboard and are 100% biodegradable. The manufacturing process is also designed to minimise energy usage and all water used is cleaned for re-use.

The importance of perfect fit inserts cannot be understanded as they are the key to preventing damages which is not only an inconvenience for customers but also has the potential to cause significant waste of paint. We are very proud that complete loss of paint during transit is very minimal due to our training, packing processes and packaging.

Scrunchy

We receive a lot of cardboard and void fill from our suppliers each week. Rather than throw it into the recycling, we re-purpose the cardboard as void fill which we’ve named as ‘scrunchy’ which helps keep products secure in transit. All our void fill is 100% re-purposed material and can also be recycled by our customers along with the rest of the packaging.

Our bags

To contain any spills or leaks that may occur, all larger tins are transported in LDPE (low density polyurethane) bags which are recyclable (LDPE 4). Although LDPE 4 is recyclable, we are actively looking to source a viable non-plastic alternative to make our packaging 100% plastic free.

Packaging is only a small part of the contribution we need to make to being sustainable and having a positive impact on the wider community. We’ll be sharing lots more throughout this year on how together, we can decorate without compromise.
